A nice and easy cross run on Barcelona’s roof.
If you want to run undisturbed in the middle of the nature, the Carretera de las Aigues is a perfect choice: a nice and flat terrain, no lights and a beatiful view.

In the first 3.5km there is no atificial light at night, and because of that is a very suggestive route to run under the full moon, as the Moon Runners teach us.
The Carretera de les Aigües derives its name from the former water distribution canals that passed through the area. It is one of the most-visited green areas in the region The green corridor is also used by cyclists and includes what is known as the Ronda Verda, a complete cycling circuit of the city.

Numerous points along the route offer splendid views of the city but specific lookout points are also available, the most recommendable among them being the Mirador dels Xiprers, from where one can see Montjuïc and Baix Llobregat, the castle and the Mirador de Torre Baró, with views of the northern districts of the city, and the Turó de Sant Pere Màrtir which, in addition to offering spectacular views of Barcelona, is of historical significance and still retains pieces of the anti-aircraft placements installed during the Civil War.
You can find several fountains along the route (all segnalized in the map) and at the other end of the route you can find a Restaurant if you want to drink a beer or have some tapas. You could even start from there, but it’s a bit more difficult to reach.

How get there:
The easiest way is obviosly by car or motorbike, being the last one the best, as sometimes the parking in «Pla de las Maduixas» can be completely full.
Bike is another good choice, but maybe it is not too obvious to find a place to lock it once you get there.
Public transportation is another option: the train L7 of the FGC will leave you at the Avenida Tibidabo stop. From there you can take the bus nº 196 or walk/run the remaining 1.2 km.
